Very interesting model, looks like they had been experimenting with two different designs, with the most visible one looking inspired by the second generation Ford Transit. With USSR collapsing a lot of newly-founded businesses needed an LCV and copying Transit was the obvious option. This one was even planned to be co-produced with Skoda but GAZ managed to capture the entire market leaving no space for competition. |

Is it just me, or does it look like a reverse-engineered Vauxhall Chevette? Now that you mention it, it really does. Originally I thought that Renault 5 had been their source of inspiration. |

The Renault Clio debuted in 1994 for 1995 model in Argentina. The difference compared to the European Model (1994-1996) is that the Argentina version of the model has only 1 engine.

Clearly some inspiration from established sports cars of it's time.
Front has some third gen Toyota Celica, while the rear looks like it has elements of the Renault Fuego and Fiat X/19. |

ZAZ tried to jump into the retro style bus with this one. It was made to look like 965 and was cancelled way too early to get the proper model name, people often call it Horbatyi-2 (Hunchback-2) which is just a moniker given to it by some journalist who managed to take a picture of it at the factory. There had been several maquettes with different designs.

Kinda looks like a 3-door cross between an Audi A2 and a Daihatsu Sirion...and we may have found where the third-generation Hyundai Accent got it's taillight design from.

That's a wrong rear picture, it's a concept, not a production version

What about the hatchback?

This prototype was launched in 1986, three years before Citroen BX's debut in Supertourisme in 1989.
Unfortunately, little information is known about this prototype. Source- bxworld.net/joomla/index.php/16-competition/151-bx-protoype-supertourisme |

The ones i saw have a tiny Mercedes tristar with the blue border, and it also got the normal star on the wheel rims. Maybe we could give the double branding? Sure |

According to Wikipedia, this concept (and the Eco-Sprinter) were first shown in 1994 at the press conference when the MCC joint venture was launched. If you google around, there's pictures of these concepts with what looks like Smart badges, but not sure if those were on the initial car.
