1957-1958 Continental Mark III

This car and the '59 Continental Mark IV are a bit difficult to put on the correct brand.

The 56-57 Continental Mark II was sold under a "separate" Continental brand to make it seem more luxurious and exclusive than a Lincoln. For 1958, Ford Motor Co. decided to discontinue the Continental sub-brand, and sell the car through the Lincoln brand again. However, even though the car was sold in Lincoln dealerships and shown in the Lincoln brochure, the car was still listed as "Continental Mark III" (without any mention of Lincoln). For this reason, I decided to put the car on the Lincoln brand instead of the Continental brand, but not mention Lincoln in the name. The Mark V introduced for 1960 was directly sold under the Lincoln brand, and will therefore be listed as such.

Grand Touring trim will feature an EcoBoost hybrid powertrain with an impressive 450hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. I'm assuming that engine will be Lincoln exclusive, like the current 400 hp EcoBoost and won't carry over to it's upcoming Ford Explorer relative.

I think Ford will never put a V8 in a new car again, and the V8 engine will probably become exclusive to the Mustang, if Ford doesn't replace it with a V6 TT.

Yeah.
But on the good side I know a guy who can make V8 swap easily :p

Really nice update and an actual model name instead of a trio of letters (hopefully the MKZ and MKC will follow suit in the next few years).

Now I'm just curious, before I go any further; is the model years for when the car came out (like many on just commented on) or not?

From 1979-1980 it was sold as the Continental, and from 1980 on, as the Town Car. The Continental name was then moved to the smaller Fox-body which replaced the Versailles.

Well I guess the previous look didn't work out for Lincoln, as they are trying to improve their "own unique designs" and differentiate from Ford. This car is just a fancy Ford Fusion after all.

Well, i'm not saying this car is ugly or anything, it looks good, i'm just not really into "futuristic" looking cars...

Really? I'd think the previous generation is more something I would drive in my 60's... At least this one looks modern.

I don't like the way they redesigned this car. It looks like something i'm gonna drive in my 40's. I prefer the previous generation...

love it! Lincoln looks way better since they've started to make the designs theirselves, instead of taking them from Ford.
