You can freely be happy not driving another, cheaper Daewoo's. I had a Lanos T100 as a substite car for few days. THAT was a piece of shit, everything trashing, squeezing and a 1.5 "powerfull" motor drunk ~11 l/100km (21mpg) in city.

THAT was a piece of shit, everything trashing, squeezing and a 1.5 "powerfull" motor drunk ~11 l/100km (21mpg) in city. Yeah, Daewoo didn't actually start making 'good' cars until the Lacetti. We had one of them (in the form of a US market Suzuki Forenza) as a rental, and it was a vast improvement. Smooth ride, nice interior. It was very quiet, too. Very good car. We had one as a rental a few years ago, and the thing was only about a year old. There were your usual rental problems (dirty, worn seats, etc.), but it also had a horrible ride on the main roads and highways. It was worse than having a tractor as a daily driver. No wonder they only sell for $1,000-$2,000 on the dealer lots these days. Absolute junk.
