Because A3 is a common version and S3 is a sportive version of A3.

That's not an answer to my question. The S3 should also have gotten a facelift in 2010.

perhaps the facelift is very minor in S3 (i see only some little changes on bumpers on the A3, the S3 hadn't the same bumpers than A3).
