Shame Mitsubishi never brought this to the US, especially considering Subaru did something similar in 1998 with the Legacy SUS (basically a sedan version of the Outback Limited).

This might have ended up being quite popular here.

They probably were afraid a large hatchback like this wouldn't be popular. Perhaps they could've made a offroady version of the regular Galant sedan, but I don't think that car is suitable for such bodywork.
