According to Wikipedia, all V40 Quests were built in Avon Lake, Ohio.

The first Quest rolled off the assembly line on April 14th, 1992 as an early ´93. ;)

Maybe it was just imported, not modified. The pictures are definitely from the Japanese catalogue

It´s very strange because actually on Japan, the wheels are on the right side.

Well it was sold on the Japanese market from 95 to 99, and these pictures are from a Japanese catalogue, just like webcarstory.com/voiture.php?id=5455 and webcarstory.com/voiture.php?id=5464 for example.
