since the previous tiguan was sold in north america only in LWB, the 3rd gen tiguan is actually a rebadged tayron instead of the global model

only the polo track is produced in Taubaté, the regular polos are still produced in São Bernardo do Campo

nevermind, i realize just now this has the brilliance badge on the wheel, so saipa brilliance h220 was correct

as it turns out, there was also a 2-door coupe and a 3-door shooting brake/wagon, and also a pre-facelift...

the wagon was discontinued in 1991 and never got the facelift, and the coupe only got the facelift in the US (it was discontinued in canada the same year)
