For example for germans recent cars, the deutsch wikipedia is good with engines. For old japan cars, i don't have nothing on the net. Automobile-catalog has an increasing amount of old japanese cars. You have to watch out for small mistakes though, and performance data should be avoided completely.

But for an older Mitsubishi like the Space Star, I doubt the official sites will give you any information. a lot of time, i prefer use for new cars german sites because sometimes some engines aren't available in France.
