No more GM cars for me ever again.
![]() EDIT: The frown is for Saab. The fact that I won't buy a GM car probably merits a smile. -- Last edit: 2011-12-19 21:24:01 |

We don't get any RWD versions here (probably applies to all of Europe) and US only lists 35 as being available with it.

Great!
I quite like the look of this car. Is the interior lifted straight from the old MR-2? |
It MIGHT have been sold here.
The later ones definitely were. |
Main image is an RS 1800 and not an XR2i. I think the red one in the background might be an XR2i though.
Also the 1.8 XR2i had a 105hp engine (It was the RS 1800 that had 130hp). -- Last edit: 2011-11-23 14:40:17 |

Here, petrol is about 1.50Euros here and diesel 1.60. In spite of the high price of it diesel cars are much are more common new as most of the market here is concentrated on company cars which pretty much have to be diesel due to the taxes and emissions caps on them. (For example my friend is just about the only person at his department who has a petrol company car and by the time he replaces it next year his company won't let him get a car that puts out more than 120 g/km so he'll pretty much have to get a diesel car).
Best selling cars in the UK are the Fiesta, Astra, Focus, Corsa, Golf, Polo, 207, 3 Series, MINI and Qashqai. |

Exported to the UK as the Dacia Duster 84-93. Don't know if that should go here or on another page.
One of the few cars to be made in Scotland.
It was sold here too but they stopped due to poor sales.
I guess it will have been sold in most European markets. |
I like this.
And both also have Ford Fiesta interiors and mechanicals

This is complicated. There was two different fronts for the Sierra up until 1985. The Base, L and GL had one front whereas the Ghia had another which was like the XR4i.
For 1985 the other trims got the Ghia/XR4i front. 1983-85 L/GL: imcdb.org/vehicle_143251-Ford-Sierra-1983.html 1983-86 Ghia: imcdb.org/vehicle_162394-Ford-Sierra-1983.html 1985-86 L/GL: imcdb.org/vehicle_387896-Ford-Sierra-1985.html |

It's a mirror. Quite common to see that on such large JDM vans.
I think it's to help people maneuver when reversing. |
Didn't this have another front in mainland Europe before 1990?

Indeed I was going to say something about a 3 wheeler class. But for that I was intending things like the Morgan (which I was going to add until I couldn't find a concensus on the engine size), Grinall Scorpion and of course the Reliant Robin. For this I'm not sure and so will sit on the fence.

Interestingly Top one is UK road registered but was only licensed until 1998.
From 97-99 yes.
As of the first generation facelift model just Scenic. |
Formerly Farbio/Farboud GTS and Ginetta F400.
It's the same interior and bodyshell as the Peugeot 206 as far as I can tell. It's just been facelifted front and rear.

Last Lancias were sold in the UK in 1993.
As Chrysler have a presence in the UK (dealer network, brand recognition etc) but no UK friendly models to sell (the two biggest sectors here are Ypsillon and Delta sized cars and the only other car Chrysler currently sells here is the Grand Voyager) it was decided to sell them as Chryslers. I don't think it will be hugely successful for them as there is a lot of competition in the sectors and the cars are a bit expensive where Chrysler has always been a cheaper brand. As a strategy on the whole it is not so bad. The costs of developing new models will be reduced by virtue of sharing them out. -- Last edit: 2011-10-02 14:53:39 |

Not the same thing but a similar Smart clone is for sale in the UK: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2008-ELECTRIC-CAR-DAMAGED-REPAIRABLE-/320764906042?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4aaf140a3a

Are they going to sell this in America as the Chrysler Delta or are they only doing that here?
Sorted.
All motors added. 1.6 NA, 2.8 Manual and Twin Turbo Diesel are not sold in the UK. -- Last edit: 2011-09-08 19:27:18 |

OT but vaguely related to Chinese cars with their ripped off designs: birdabroad.wordpress.com/2011/07/20/are-you-listening-steve-jobs/

This came first.
It nearly killed Jason Plato when he tested it on 'Fifth Gear'. |
It seems that the company only produced a demo car. Some sites list it as still in production but the company was liquidated in 2009.
They planned to fit a tuned Vauxhall diesel but never made a car with it so I don't know if that counts as a motor. |

Great video!

Alistair MacRae drove this IIRC.
